New state prints!

I have 9 new state prints now in the shop!

I have all the colors pre-planned out for the states. This set has super-saturated hues, due to my use of both watercolor and gouache. Above is some of the states in process. They are painted in pieces and then put together with the magic of computers.

New state prints!

I just added 9 new state prints to the shop! 

Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, and South Carolina join the line-up. Each was hand-painted with watercolors and features hand-lettering and each state's official flower.

I am now over halfway done with the states! I hope to get a few more done for the holiday season.

In continuation of my State Print series, I've recently completed 4 more!

OK, so D.C. isn't technically a state, but it counts, right? I mean, except for that whole "taxation without representation" thing, but whatever. So in addition to my USA print and Great Lakes print, that makes 21 pieces in the series! 

I'm taking a break for a little while to concentrate on my acrylics, but I promise to add more soon.

Updated state prints

I've been working my way through the states as a set of prints for a while now. I've been having so much fun with them!

It's a progressive series - when it first began I was adding flowers for decoration, but after a few states, I decided to make the flowers each state's specific state flower. 

 My first two state prints:

original versions

The first two states I painted were Michigan and West Virginia; after a while with the black text and decorative flowers, they no longer fit with the flow of the series -- so I decided to update them!

 

Updated green Michigan print

The newly updated Michigan print is in the same color scheme as the original, but with new color-coordinating hand lettering and features the state flower - the Apple Blossom. 

Updated West Virginia print

The updated West Virginia also features new blue hand lettering and the state flower- the Rhododendron. 

 

 

These states are my and my husband's home states, so it was very special to me to be able to update them and give them even more meaning. 

 

 

 

 I hope to be adding even more state prints soon! (hint, DC-metro area!)

New state prints

I recently added some new state prints to the shop! On all these newer prints, I've started adding in the state flower -- it adds a little more depth to the prints, I think.

I'm not really putting landmarks or topographical indications of any kind on these prints, but for Utah I just kind of felt like I had to add the Great Salt Lake...

New Michigan Prints

Excited to share some new Michigan-based prints now in the shop.

Each print is based off my original watercolor paintings with hand-painted lettering laid in. They are archival, just like the rest of my prints, and available in 8.5 x 11".
